LeBron James, Kyrie Irving Shake Hands After Cavs Defeat Celtics

Zac WassinkOct 17, 2017

A pair of famous former teammates came together after the Cleveland Cavaliers opened the 2017-18 season with a 102-99 victory over the Boston Celtics at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night.

Boston point guard Kyrie Irving, who the Cavs traded to the Celtics during the summer, missed a three-pointer that would've tied the game as time expired.

Cleveland superstar LeBron James, who defended Irving on the final shot, reached out to the 25-year-old after the horn sounded, and the two engaged in a handshake familiar to fans used to watching both men play home games at the Q.
