John Harbaugh Says Ravens Have Gone Deep into Playoffs After Worse Starts

Andrew GouldOct 3, 2017

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is not panicking because of two consecutive losses.

After starting 2-0, Baltimore suffered a 44-7 blowout to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London before falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, 26-9. Joe Flacco threw two picks in each defeat and averaged just 3.9 yards per pass attempt.

Harbaugh nevertheless offered a positive spin when speaking to reporters after Week 4's loss, per the Ravens' official site

"We've been worse than 2-2 here before and come back and gone to the AFC Championship," Harbaugh said.

He must be referring to his 2008 team, which also started 2-0 by beating the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns before falling to 2-3. That squad earned a wild-card bid at 11-5 and lost to Pittsburgh for the AFC title.

The Ravens will face the Oakland Raiders on the road Sunday.
