Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson isn't limiting his competition to humans as he prepares for the 2017-18 NBA season.

While visiting the Los Angeles Lakers facility on Wednesday, Thompson played some one-on-one against a four-legged defender.

It appears the 27-year-old originally wanted to face a pair of pups on the court, but one of the dogs quickly lost interest. Nevertheless, the remaining opponent did enough to force Thompson to brick an attempt from beyond the arc.

The two-time NBA champion later got his revenge when he drained a three-pointer over the furry friend, but the video shows the shooter clearly stepped out before launching the attempt:

We hope Klay rewarded the very good boy (or girl) with a tasty treat after the game.
