Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Any serious injury could be a major loss for the Twins, a team that otherwise has limited power.
The 24-year-old has developed into one of the league's top home run hitters, totaling 71 in his first three seasons despite only averaging 103 games per year. He hit 21 home runs in the first half of 2017, earning him his first career All-Star appearance.
Unfortunately, injuries continue to be a problem.
Sano couldn't top 120 games in either of the last two years because of a variety of issues, including injuries to his back, shin, elbow and hamstring. With another setback taking him off the field, there is concern whether he can remain healthy.
Eduardo Escobar will likely slide over to third base in Sano's absence, leaving the versatile Ehire Adrianza to start at shortstop, while others such as Brian Dozier will try to carry the offense.
