AC Milan-Roma Preview: Italian Serie A Football Match
AC Milan
AC Milan’s freefall continues and one can only suspect that Leonardo is on a short leash following a horrible start to the 2009-'10 Serie A campaign.
This AC Milan vs Roma fixture may only serve to compound the manager's problems, with a talented team such as Roma being the last club Milan would want to face at this point.

AC Milan have won only two of their first seven matches, of which only Inter can be considered a top opponent. In fact, the other opponents, which Milan have failed to beat, must really be considered bottom feeders in the Serie A.
Draws with Bari, Livorno and Atalanta are simply unacceptable for a club with the intentions of Milan. And to add insult to injury, AC Milan’s 1-0 loss at home against FC Zurich has more or less nullified the advantage they gained by beating Marseilles in their opening game of the Champions League.
AC Milan should be doing far better, and their 12th place in the table shows exactly how poor they have been. It’s quite clear that the aging squad Leonardo has to work with really isn’t very good without Kaká there to bail it out.
AS Roma
At first glance, AS Roma could almost be considered a failure like Milan. That is, if you only look at their position in the table.
What gets Roma off the hook in this case is the difficult schedule they have had since the start of the Serie A season.
Considering their opponents, 11 points from seven matches is actually quite alright. AS Roma have already had to play the likes of Juventus, Fiorentina, and Genoa, and the other matches they’ve played have been far from easy points.
Claudio Ranieri as manager could be a perfect fit for Roma following the departure of Luciano Spalletti. While it may take some time to develop, AS Roma’s performance in their last match against Napoli looked far more inspired than those in previous matches this season.
Prediction
Last season's AC Milan-Roma meeting at the San Siro saw Roma triumph, 3-2. The reverse fixture at the Stadio Olimpico ended in another high-scoring affair, this time with a 2-2 draw as the final scoreline.
The question of relevance: Can it get any worse for Milan? Yes it can…
AC Milan vs Roma Prediction: Milan 1, Roma 2.
