South Carolina-Alabama and Other SEC Predictions for Week Seven
After a blockbuster Saturday a week ago, the SEC does not quite provide the blockbuster punch this week but it is the SEC so of course there is intrigue.
Georgia at Vanderbilt
The Bulldogs take a trip to Tennessee for the second straight week, hoping this visit is more pleasant than last week's drubbing in Knoxville. But Vandy did not fare much better, losing to Army. The Bulldogs have more talent—way more talent—and, barring a total emotional let-down, they should win this one.

Miss State at Middle Tennessee State
The Blue Raiders already stung a BCS opponent in Maryland this season, and now get their chance at an SEC team at home. Miss State has been very close against three likely bowl teams in their past three games. I think they finally break through this week.

UAB at Ole Miss
The SEC title dreams are down the drain in Oxford. Jevan Snead looks like he read a lot more press clippings than defenses thus far this year. And the Rebels really, really miss T Michael Oher. Still, Ole Miss has much more talent than UAB.

Kentucky at Auburn
The Tigers came back to Earth last week, losing to Arkansas. Kentucky lost their third straight, but made a game of it at South Carolina. In the Wildcats' four-game guantlet, they have played better each week. Could they get a breakthrough against Auburn with new QB Randall Cobb running the attack? I don't think so, but I like UK more than the experts.

South Carolina at Alabama
Nobody is giving Steve Spurrier much of a chance in Tuscaloosa, and that is the way the Ol' Ball Coach likes it. His defense is good enough to keep him close, but South Carolina has to get a solid game out of Stephen Garcia going against a really good Alabama defense (I am mean really good). The Gamecocks have enough to match Alabama for a half or maybe three quarters, but not four.
