Week Six Fantasy Rankings: Top 20 Quarterbacks

Oct 15, 2009

We are just days away from the games this week, and Iโ€™m sure many owners are wrestling with some decisions as to who they should start and who they should sit. So, with that in mind, letโ€™s take a look at my rankings for this week, starting with the Top 20 quarterbacks (keep checking back, as rankings will be posted throughout the day):

  1. Aaron Rodgersโ€”Green Bay Packersโ€”vs. Detroit Lions
  2. Tom Bradyโ€”New England Patriotsโ€”vs. Tennessee Titans
  3. Donovan McNabbโ€”Philadelphia Eaglesโ€”at Oakland Raiders
  4. Matt Schaubโ€”Houston Texansโ€”at Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Drew Breesโ€”New Orleans Saintsโ€”vs. New York Giants
  6. Ben Roethlisbergerโ€”Pittsburgh Steelersโ€”vs. Cleveland Browns
  7. Matt Hasselbeckโ€”Seattle Seahawksโ€”vs. Arizona Cardinals
  8. Kurt Warnerโ€”Arizona Cardinalsโ€”at Seattle Seahawks
  9. David Garrardโ€”Jacksonville Jaguarsโ€”vs. St. Louis Rams
  10. Jay Cutlerโ€”Chicago Bearsโ€”at Atlanta Falcons
  11. Joe Flaccoโ€”Baltimore Ravensโ€”at Minnesota Vikings
  12. Philip Riversโ€”San Diego Chargersโ€”vs. Denver Broncos
  13. Kyle Ortonโ€”Denver Broncosโ€”at San Diego Chargers
  14. Carson Palmerโ€”Cincinnati Bengalsโ€”vs. Houston Texans
  15. Eli Manningโ€”New York Giantsโ€”at New Orleans Saints
  16. Matt Ryanโ€”Atlanta Falconsโ€”vs. Chicago Bears
  17. Brett Favreโ€”Minnesota Vikingsโ€”vs. Baltimore Ravens
  18. Jason Campbellโ€”Washington Redskinsโ€”vs. Kansas City Chiefs
  19. Matt Casselโ€”Kansas City Chiefsโ€”at Washington Redskins
  20. Marc Bulgerโ€”St. Louis Ramsโ€”at Jacksonville Jaguars

Quick Thoughts

  • Drew Brees has proven to be among the best QBs in the game, but that tough Giants defense brings his value down just a touch. Still, are there many youโ€™d rather have?
  • Will it be a shootout in Seattle? Both quarterbacks will likely benefit, especially if Seattle can capitalize on the Cardinals passing defense, which enters this week as the worst in the league. If that happens, the pass happy Cardinals are going to focus on the pass to try to get back into the game, meaning passing attempts aplenty.
  • With Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal heating up, Kyle Orton has the potential to continue to put up strong numbers.
  • You have to be concerned about Eli Manningโ€™s health at this point, which certainly helps him slip a few spots here.
  • We all know how bad the Rams offense is, but taking on the 29th ranked passing defense, you certainly could do worse than taking the gamble on Bulger in two quarterback leagues.

What are your thoughts? Who was left off the list? Who should be higher? Who should be lower?
