Week Six Fantasy Rankings: Top 20 Quarterbacks

Eric StashinOct 15, 2009

We are just days away from the games this week, and I’m sure many owners are wrestling with some decisions as to who they should start and who they should sit. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at my rankings for this week, starting with the Top 20 quarterbacks (keep checking back, as rankings will be posted throughout the day):

  1. Aaron Rodgers—Green Bay Packers—vs. Detroit Lions
  2. Tom Brady—New England Patriots—vs. Tennessee Titans
  3. Donovan McNabb—Philadelphia Eagles—at Oakland Raiders
  4. Matt Schaub—Houston Texans—at Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Drew Brees—New Orleans Saints—vs. New York Giants
  6. Ben Roethlisberger—Pittsburgh Steelers—vs. Cleveland Browns
  7. Matt Hasselbeck—Seattle Seahawks—vs. Arizona Cardinals
  8. Kurt Warner—Arizona Cardinals—at Seattle Seahawks
  9. David Garrard—Jacksonville Jaguars—vs. St. Louis Rams
  10. Jay Cutler—Chicago Bears—at Atlanta Falcons
  11. Joe Flacco—Baltimore Ravens—at Minnesota Vikings
  12. Philip Rivers—San Diego Chargers—vs. Denver Broncos
  13. Kyle Orton—Denver Broncos—at San Diego Chargers
  14. Carson Palmer—Cincinnati Bengals—vs. Houston Texans
  15. Eli Manning—New York Giants—at New Orleans Saints
  16. Matt Ryan—Atlanta Falcons—vs. Chicago Bears
  17. Brett Favre—Minnesota Vikings—vs. Baltimore Ravens
  18. Jason Campbell—Washington Redskins—vs. Kansas City Chiefs
  19. Matt Cassel—Kansas City Chiefs—at Washington Redskins
  20. Marc Bulger—St. Louis Rams—at Jacksonville Jaguars

Quick Thoughts

  • Drew Brees has proven to be among the best QBs in the game, but that tough Giants defense brings his value down just a touch. Still, are there many you’d rather have?
  • Will it be a shootout in Seattle? Both quarterbacks will likely benefit, especially if Seattle can capitalize on the Cardinals passing defense, which enters this week as the worst in the league. If that happens, the pass happy Cardinals are going to focus on the pass to try to get back into the game, meaning passing attempts aplenty.
  • With Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal heating up, Kyle Orton has the potential to continue to put up strong numbers.
  • You have to be concerned about Eli Manning’s health at this point, which certainly helps him slip a few spots here.
  • We all know how bad the Rams offense is, but taking on the 29th ranked passing defense, you certainly could do worse than taking the gamble on Bulger in two quarterback leagues.

What are your thoughts? Who was left off the list? Who should be higher? Who should be lower?
