Paul Millsap Rumors: Rockets in Play If Paul George Doesn't Join Chris Paul
The Houston Rockets may be the next NBA team to join the superteam movement, with Paul Millsap reportedly on their radar if a deal for Paul George fails to materialize.
During an appearance on ESPN's SportsNation, Brian Windhorst said "something" is going on with the Rockets and "if it's not Paul George, watch out for Paul Millsap," via Salman Ali of RedNationHoops.com.
The Rockets reportedly acquired Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, per The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Atlanta Hawks went into sell mode over the last year, starting with the deal that sent Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers in January.
On June 20, Dwight Howard was traded from the Hawks to the Charlotte Hornets one year after he signed a three-year deal with the team.
Millsap was rumored to be on the trading block during the 2016-17 season, with ESPN's Marc Stein reporting the Hawks wanted "a future first-round pick of better quality" than they received for Korver.
No deal ultimately materialized for Millsap, who is entering unrestricted free agency after opting out of the final year of his contract.
The 32-year-old averaged a career-high 18.1 points last season, along with 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 69 games.
