Arsenal Transfer News: Alexandre Lacazette Record Bid Rumoured
June 23, 2017
Arsenal have reportedly made a club-record £44 million offer for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette, and it's thought the bid is likely to be accepted.
Per The Guardian's Dominic Fifield, Lyon are already working on a deal for Chelsea's Bertrand Traore, and the club is willing to part with Lacazette for the right fee.
Per the report, Lacazette originally planned on joining La Liga side Atletico Madrid, but the Rojiblancos' transfer ban has complicated matters. The 26-year-old has since relaxed his stance on which club he joins and is open to different options. He's currently on holiday, and talks with Arsenal could take place next week.
Arsenal's transfer record is the £42.5 million fee they paid for Mesut Ozil, per Fifield.

Lacazette has a long track record of success in Ligue 1 and has been linked with moves abroad for years. Lyon have so far refused to sell their star striker, but his value is at optimal level and a deal seems likely.
Fifield also reported Lyon and West Ham United will look at Olivier Giroud once Lacazette moves to north London, and the latter's arrival would end the team's pursuit of Monaco's Kylian Mbappe.
