Jose Ramirez Posts Best 7-Game Extra-Base Hit Streak in Modern Era
Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and two runs during Monday's 12-0 blowout victory over the Baltimore Orioles. In doing so, he became the first player in the modern era (since 1900) to accumulate 14 or greater extra-base hits across a seven-game span, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Over the past seven outings, Ramirez has impressively racked up 10 doubles, three homers and one triple in addition to 11 runs and seven RBI.
The streak also boosted his slash line significantly. Ramirez was slashing .279/.341/.482 prior to his seven-game showing. Heading into Tuesday's game against Baltimore, he's now slashing .318/.371/.561.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Ramirez, who made his MLB debut in 2013, burst on to the scene last year after going undrafted in 2009. From 2013-2015, he managed an OPS of just .644 across 564 at-bats, but in 565 at-bats during the 2016 season, he's posted an .825 OPS seemingly out of nowhere.
He hasn't stopped improving in the counting stats, either. Ramirez has already tied his home run total (11) from last season and also owns the eighth-best OPS (.932) in the American League. If he can keep building upon his seven stolen bases, a 20/20 season isn't out of the question.
Ramirez will attempt to keep his hot streak alive Tuesday when the Indians go up against a struggling Chris Tillman, who claims a 1-5 record with an 8.07 ERA and 2.10 WHIP.
