5-Year-Old Red Sox Fan Invited To Game After Release From Hospital

Red Sox megafan Ari Schultz just got extra good news this week. 

First, the five-year-old heart patient found out he'd finally return home from the hospital after 187 days and several heart surgeries. 

Schultz's heartwarming reaction to the good news went viral, garnering the attention of former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates, who suffers from ALS and was the inspiration for the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Frates tweeted Schultz and Boston Red Sox president Sam Kennedy, asking if the little fan would join him on a VIP trip to Fenway Park:  

Kennedy accepted the request, and Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi shared his excitement:
