Corey Kluber Fastest to 1,000 Strikeouts in Cleveland Indians History
Cleveland Indians ace pitcher Corey Kluber racked up 10 strikeouts while allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings Wednesday.
While it wasn't enough for him to secure the victory in the contest, the 31-year-old hurler did surpass 1,000 career strikeouts during the game, becoming the fastest (148 games) to reach the century mark, per Sportsnet Stats. Kluber finished the night with 1,005 strikeouts for his career.
After starting the year slowly, Kluber went on the disabled list in early May due to a back injury. He didn't return until early June, but since then the Klubot has returned to his form of the past few seasons.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Cleveland entered the year considered one of the favorites to win the World Series. While they still sit one game over the .500 mark and just two games back of the Minnesota Twins for the top spot in the AL Central, the club isn't setting the world on fire as was expected of them following a run to the World Series last season.
Getting Kluber back at full health should assist things, however. He's posted three strong starts following the DL stint and will look to build off of that stretch when he takes the mound for his next scheduled start Monday when the Indians travel to Camden Yards to face Dylan Bundy and the Baltimore Orioles.
