Red Sox Broadcaster Jerry Remy Announces Relapse of Lung Cancer

Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy announced Monday he will begin treatment for a relapse of lung cancer. 

Remy, 64, was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2008. According to CBS Boston, Remy has been diagnosed with cancer five separate times.

In February, the NESN color commentator announced he had suffered a relapse, but tweeted it was "under control." 

Less than a month later, Remy provided an update stating he underwent a procedure that went "great" and that he was healthy enough to make the trip to spring training. 

Remy's status for broadcasts in the coming weeks has yet to be announced.
