Braves Fan Falls, Loses Race After Receiving Huge Head Start
An Atlanta Braves fan learned never to celebrate until the deed is done.
During Atlanta's 3-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday night, a contestant received a massive head start in SunTrust Park's "Beat The Freeze" foot race against a mystery man donning a teal suit (and no, it wasn't Charlie Day as Green Man). Assuming he had built an insurmountable lead, the fan slowed down and encouraged everyone to make noise before he crossed the finish line.
He then watched the masked ringer flash past him. Making matters worse, he face-planted as his speedy adversary zoomed to victory.

SNY broadcasters Gary Cohen—who hasn't sounded as joyful since Bartolo Colon's home run—and Ron Darling showed no sympathy for the man hampered by hubris. They cackled at the slow-motion replay, with Darling noting the fan fell "where he belongs: right in the dirt."
