Steve Kerr Gets Technical Originally Charged to Draymond Green in Game 4

Alec NathanJun 9, 2017

Referees announced in the third quarter of Game 4 Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena that a technical foul initially assessed to Draymond Green in the first quarter had been intended for head coach Steve Kerr

According to ABC's Doris Burke (via RealGM), officials didn't clarify the technical was actually on Kerr until Green was assessed what appeared to be his second technical foul midway through the third quarter after he argued with a call.

Burke added that those at the scorer's table were in agreement the officials told them the first-quarter technical was initially on Green, per USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt

Had the first technical not been switched to Kerr, Green would have been ejected.

In addition to remaining in the game, Green avoided picking up what seemed to be his fifth technical foul of the postseason.

Had Green reached that mark, he would have been two technicals away from receiving an automatic one-game suspension from the league office.
