England manager Gareth Southgate has told reporters Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane will captain England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Saturday.

Per Simon Peach of the Press Association, Liverpool's Adam Lallana approved of the decision:
The 23-year-old forward enjoyed another fine Premier League season, scoring 29 goals for Spurs. It was his third straight season with more than 20 goals, cementing himself as the Three Lions' top option up front.
Chelsea defender Gary Cahill was the team's captain for the friendly against Germany, but he was suspended for the qualifier against Lithuania.
England lead Group F with 13 points from five matches, four more than Slovakia. Scotland are in fourth place with seven points.
