Draymond Green Picks Up Technical Foul After Arguing with Referee in Game 3

Tyler ConwayJun 7, 2017

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green drew his third technical foul of the 2017 NBA postseason in the second quarter of Wednesday night's Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Green first complained to officials about not getting a foul called in his favor when he tried a post-up move on Kyrie Irving. On Cleveland's ensuing possession, he was called for a foul on a Richard Jefferson shot attempt with 2:07 remaining in the quarter.

Three Warriors players attempted to prevent Green from arguing with the referees a second time in a short span, but official Monty McCutchen evidently felt he crossed the line and issued him a technical.

The Warriors All-Star previously drew a technical in Golden State's second-round series against the Utah Jazz and another in the conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

Green is, of course, in no danger of racking up another Finals suspension. A player must record seven technicals to draw a one-game suspension. Unless Green goes on an argumentative streak, he should have more than enough room to avoid a repeat of last year.

Green is also yet to draw a flagrant foul in these playoffs, which was the cause of his suspension for Game 5 of the 2016 Finals. Basically, Draymond pulled a Draymond here briefly, and there's not much more to see beyond the moment.
