French Open 2017 Schedule: Tuesday Replay TV Coverage and Live-Stream Guide

Brian MarronJun 6, 2017

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal could be on a collision course for another Grand Slam semifinal matchup in the 2017 French Open, while the women's side of the bracket is more wide-open thanks to a slew of upsets.

Nadal is already one of the undisputed best players ever on clay, which has resulted in a startling nine titles at Roland Garros. Going against fellow Spaniard in Pablo Carreno Busta, Nadal should be favored to advance past the quarterfinals on Tuesday, especially considering his recent numbers on the surface, per ESPN's John Buccigross:

As for the other matches, there should be plenty of intrigue. Dominic Thiem is a rising star who could announce himself to the world with a win over Djokovic, while the women's slate Tuesday features four players seeded outside of the top 10, led by Caroline Wozniacki at No. 11.

With that in mind, here is a look at the television, replay coverage and live-stream schedule for the semifinals. Continue along for a preview for what to expect in the other three matches, outside of Nadal, of the day.

Djokovic overcame a major career hurdle last summer when he finally won his first French Open, giving him the career Grand Slam and solidifying himself as a tennis legend.

Since then, he has struggled with early exits at the Australian Open, Olympics and Wimbledon as well a beatdown from Stan Wawrinka in the U.S. Open final. Djokovic has now taken an interesting route to reverse his fortunes at this Roland Garros: former tennis star Andre Agassi.

Agassi certainly experienced plenty on and off of the court, which Djokovic acknowledged in his explanation of his decision to hire him as his coach, per Tom Perrotta of the Wall Street Journal.

"This is exactly what I need at this moment, a person like him that understands the transitions as a tennis player and, you know, as a person as well," Djokovic said after his first-round victory. "He has a lot to share with me outside and inside of the tennis lines. I'm really enjoying it so far."

The results have been solid at this point. Djokovic has won 12 of his 14 sets so far, but he did have a five-set scare with unranked Diego Schwartzman in the third round. Djokovic's strength has always been his return ability, which has been on display with roughly eight return games won per match at this tournament.

An area where must clean up is unforced errors, where he is averaging roughly 10 per set. That number will need to improve against Thiem, who has yet to drop a set this tournament. An advantage for Thiem is that he avoided playing Djokovic on Philippe-Chatrier Court, where he would be slightly out of his element, per Jose Morgado of the Record in Portugal:

Djokovic owns a 5-0 career mark against Thiem, including 2-0 on clay and a three-set cruise in last year's French Open semifinals. Until Thiem solves this puzzle, Djokovic has to be favored, but expect this match to go at least four sets, particularly with Djokovic's recent inconsistency.

Speaking of lopsided history, Wozniacki is the biggest women's name taking the court on Tuesday, but she could be in for a tough time.

The French Open has not been kind to Wozniacki, as she is making only her second quarterfinal appearance and first since 2010. Three of her four matches at this tournament have gone to a third set, but she is fresh off an impressive win over No. 8 Svetlana Kuznetsova in the fourth round.

Wozniacki will run into 19-year-old rising star Jelena Ostapenko, who has managed to already dominate this matchup in her short career. Ostapenko is 3-0, including back-to-back wins on clay in 2017. She plays a very similar style as Wozniacki, as the WTA notes both players have thrived on taking away their opponent's first-serve chances:

Ostapenko has a slight edge historically, but Wozniacki holds a distinct advantage in experience that could come into play. Ostapenko is playing in her first-ever quarterfinal at any major, while Wozniacki has been on this stage eight times across. Look for this match to be a true toss-up.

The same can be said for the other women's matchup, as Timea Bacsinszky and Kristina Mladenovic split their only two previous professional meetings.

Both players are riding high after their last match in this tournament. Bacsinszky downed No. 10 Venus Williams while Mladenovic ousted defending champion Garbine Muguruza. The 6-foot Mladenovic's length was able to help her compete against Muguruza, and it should cause some problems for the 5'7" Bacsinszky.

However, Bacsinszky has only dropped one set at Roland Garros compared to Mladenovic's three, so she could continue her hot streak into the semifinals. Either way, expect a close one here.
