On May 31, Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press reported Mumphery was banned from Michigan State's campus last year for violating the school's relationship violence and sexual misconduct policy after he was accused of sexual assault. He was not charged with a crime.
Mumphery was a fifth-round draft pick by the Texans in 2015. He has appeared in 27 games over the past two seasons, but only had 10 receptions in 2016.
Bullough appeared in all 16 games last season for the first time in his career. He was an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State in 2014.
