Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The 2016 National League hits leader has been on a tear through the first two months of the 2017 campaign, so it goes without saying the Mariners will be in trouble if he misses a significant amount of time.
Through his first 42 appearances this season, Segura is slashing .344/.392/.467 with four home runs, 20 RBI and seven stolen bases. He also ranks fourth among AL shortstops with 1.5 wins above replacement, per FanGraphs.
Taylor Motter replaced Segura on Thursday, and he projects as the Mariners' stopgap solution at shortstop so long as the 27-year-old is sidelined.
