Jimmy Connors Voices Support for Tiger Woods After DUI Arrest
Tennis great Jimmy Connors voiced his support for Tiger Woods on Wednesday, tweeting that life can be "pretty special" following his DUI arrest.
Dashcam footage of Woods' arrest in Jupiter, Florida, was made available to the public on Wednesday, as shown by Golf.com:
In a statement released hours after he was released from jail on Monday, Woods cited an "unexpected reaction" to prescription medicine he has been taking for the arrest, according to the Associated Press (via the New York Post).
"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions," Woods said. "I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."
Connor, 64, previously battled some troubles of his own.
In 2013, Connors disclosed in his autobiography, The Outsider, that he had a gambling problem and previously bet $1 million on his Battle of the Sexes match against Martina Navratilova.
