Mike Trout Undergoes Successful Thumb Surgery; Recovery Timeline 6-8 Weeks

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout underwent successful surgery on his injured left thumb Wednesday.
Per Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, Trout had his UCL and dorsal capsule fixed during the procedure. His estimated return time remains six to eight weeks.
Trout, the 2016 American League MVP, injured his thumb during a slide into second base against the Miami Marlins on Sunday.

The Angels announced Monday that Trout would undergo surgery to fix the injury and would need six to eight weeks of recovery time.
The 25-year-old Trout was off to another stellar start in 2017 before the injury. He is leading the American League with a .461 on-base percentage and .742 slugging percentage and is tied for second with 16 home runs.
