Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus sustained another unfortunate injury, as a clash with club teammate Nicolas Otamendi during international duty resulted in a broken eye socket.

News of the diagnosis came from the Associated Press (via the Guardian), who report the forward was initially cleared after he collided with the defender in Brazil's 1-0 friendly defeat to fierce rivals Argentina in Melbourne, Australia.

The injury will be a worry for the Citizens, as Jesus has been a breath of fresh air since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium and is already a crucial part of Pep Guardiola's plans despite his tender years.

The forward has so much to offer. Jesus can play from either flank or through the middle and has dovetailed splendidly with Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling. Indeed, his form at times prompted Guardiola into leaving star striker Sergio Aguero on the bench.
