Kevin Garnett Will Throw 2008 Celtics Reunion on TNT's 'Area 21'
Kevin Garnett will host teammates from the 2008 Boston Celtics in Monday night's "Area 21" segment on TNT's Inside the NBA.
Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Kendrick Perkins will join the retired forward during coverage of Game 4 between the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City.
Per Boston.com's Chad Finn, TNT initially lined up Davis and Perkins, but Pierce and Rondo became available with their respective teams, the Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls, eliminated in the first round of the 2017 playoffs.
Ray Allen, a vital member of the championship-winning squad, is noticeably absent from the guest list. Rondo recently told The Undefeated Marc J. Spears that he is planning a vacation to celebrate the 10-year reunion of Boston's title conquest, but Allen isn't welcome because he signed with the Miami Heat in 2012.
Garnett and Pierce left Boston a year later, when the Celtics fleeced the Brooklyn Nets in a one-sided trade that could net them this year's No. 1 draft pick.
The Big Ticket has invited several former players to discuss a multitude of topics in the laid-back environment. Pierce's retirement, Allen's shunning and Rondo's "My vets" Instagram post from January all make this gathering appointment viewing.
