Magic Johnson Tells Luke Walton Lakers Will Get 'Top-3 Pick'
The 2017 NBA draft lottery doesn't occur until May 16, but it appears Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton is already confident the basketball fates will smile upon his club.
As Anthony Irwin of SB Nation's Silver Screen and Roll explained, the Lakers have a 46.9 percent chance of remaining in the top three of this year's draft. Los Angeles' pick will go to the Philadelphia 76ers if it drops anywhere below the No. 3 spot in the lottery.
On Tuesday, Walton explained on CBS Sports program We Need to Talk he isn't concerned, in part because of some information he received about the lottery from team president of basketball operations Magic Johnson.

Every Team's Biggest Fear 😨
"Magic's already assured me that we're going to get our top-three pick this year, so I'm excited about that," Walton said while keeping a straight face for a couple of seconds before laughing briefly.
That statement may spark some interesting conspiracy theories, especially if the Lakers end up winning a top-three pick via the lottery.
