Pat Day Stakes 2017: Post Time, Predictions for Entire Field
The 2017 Pat Day Mile Stakes takes place on the undercard for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
The American Grade 3 race for three-year-olds over a distance of a mile will be contested by a quality field, vying for a slice of the $250,000 purse.
Formerly known as the Derby Trial Stakes, the race will start at 4:28 p.m. ET before the Run for the Roses, which is scheduled for 6:46 p.m ET.
Here is the full field and predicted placings for Saturday's race:
| Sonic Mule | T. Pletcher | 7th |
| Uncontested | W. Catalano | 6th |
| Guest Suite | N. Howard | 8th |
| Cool Arrow | J. Sharp | 4th |
| Warrior's Club | D. Lukas | 1st |
| Impressive Edge | D. Romans | 3rd |
| Lookin For Eight | M. Tomlinson | 2nd |
| Salute With Honor | E. Plesa Jr. | 5th |
Sharp Azteca gained an impressive ride and victory last year, but 2017 promises to deliver a fresh winner to the paddock.
Four horses have put in noticeable finishes in their previous races, with D. Wayne Lukas' Warrior's Club finishing second at the 2017 Northern Spur (RS).
Impressive Edge will be a serious contender to Lukas' colt after its fine run in a fourth-placed finish at the Florida Derby.
Salute With Honor could tempt punters on race day with a third-placed finish during its last outing.
However, Looking For Eight's odds on Saturday could be short after showing promising form in recent months.
Prediction: Warrior's Club to win.
