Marlins Fan Takes Off Shirt Before Jumping into Pool, Misses Out on HR Ball

A fan at Marlins Park wanted a souvenir enough to jump into a pool, but not enough to get his shirt wet.

Now he has soaked jeans and no baseball.

Miami Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna laced a home run to left field during Monday night's 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. The ball landed in the swimming pool of the new stadium's Clevelander section.

It dropped right behind a fan, who took off his shirt and tossed his cellphone before jumping for the memento. By then, a more aggressive pursuer beat him to the punch.

When interviewed by Fox Sports Florida's Craig Minervini, the victor, Jimmy, said he "had to do it."

As for the one who hesitated, at least his phone stayed dry.
