Ichiro Suzuki Homers in Possible Final Safeco Field At-Bat
Zac WassinkApr 19, 2017
Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki spent the bulk of his Major League Baseball career with the Seattle Mariners, and he offered quite the final farewell to Safeco Field, if this was indeed his last appearance at his former home.
In the top of the ninth inning of Wednesday's contest, the 43-year-old crushed a pitch from reliever Evan Marshall over the right field wall for a solo home run, and many among the pro-Mariners crowd erupted.
The Mariners defeated Miami 10-5, but Ichiro nevertheless deserves credit for a memorable finale in Seattle if he does retire following the 2017 season.
