
Umpire Dale Scott Hit by Foul Ball, Leaves Orioles vs. Blue Jays on Stretcher
Home plate umpire Dale Scott was taken to the hospital Friday night after a foul ball deflected off his mask during the Toronto Blue Jays' showdown against the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre.
The Athletic Toronto's John Lott posted a photo of Scott with his head and neck immobilized after the scary scene unfolded:

The Blue Jays later tweeted a message of support for the 57-year-old crew chief:
According to Lott, Scott was diagnosed with a concussion after he was transported to the hospital. MLB determined he is out for the remainder of the weekend.
Scott has been with MLB since 1986 and has served as an umpire for three World Series (1998, 2001, 2004) and three All-Star Games (1993, 2001, 2011), among other achievements, since breaking into the majors.
