Andrew Romine Randomly Drug Tested After Game-Winning Grand Slam vs. Twins

The hot start to the season for Andrew Romine has turned some heads, including those in the MLB front office.

Speaking to the media after the game, the Detroit Tigers outfielder revealed he was drug tested shortly after his first career grand slam, per Bill Baer of NBC Sports.

"Immediately when I walked in, it was 'you got a drug test,'" Romine told reporters.

The fourth-inning grand slam ended up being the difference in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins. With two hits in each of his last three games, the 31-year-old brought his average up to .545 (6-for-11) on the season with three doubles and a home run.
