John Cena Thanks Fans After Engagement to Nikki Bella at WWE WrestleMania 33

John Cena took to Twitter on Monday morning to thank the WWE Universe after his engagement to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33:

"I want to thank my always expressive "family" the @WWEUniverse for allowing me to have a #WrestleMania moment that I will NEVER forget!" Cena said in the post. 

Cena, 39, proposed to Bella, 33, following their win over The Miz and Maryse during a mixed tag-team match Sunday night in Orlando, Florida. The build to the match had featured Miz and Maryse poking fun at the longtime couple for not being married and for their relationship being "fake."

The build featured a Total Bellas parody that made multiple allusions to proposals, foreshadowing the actual proposal from Cena. The couple have been an item since 2012.

Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to 2012. The couple divorced in July 2012, and Cena told Bella on Total Divas he did not want marriage or children in an episode that aired last year.
