Blake Treinen Named Nationals Closer over Koda Glover, Shawn Kelley

The Washington Nationals named Blake Treinen their closer Thursday for the 2017 season over Koda Glover and Shawn Kelley.
According to Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post, Nats manager Dusty Baker made the official announcement.
The 28-year-old Treinen is set to enter his fourth MLB season, and he is coming off the best campaign of his career.

Treinen went 4-1 with a 2.28 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 63 strikeouts and one save in 2016.
Washington has been in search of an answer at closer throughout spring training following Mark Melancon's decision to sign with the San Francisco Giants in December.
In five spring training appearances, Treinen has yet to allow an earned run, boasts a 0.21 WHIP and has struck out eight batters in 4.2 innings.
