Ladder Stipulation Added to WWE WrestleMania 33 Raw Tag Team Title Match

WWE announced Tuesday that the Raw Tag Team Championship bout at WrestleMania 33 between Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus and Enzo Amore and Big Cass will be a ladder match.

The decision for Sunday's championship at Orlando Citrus Bowl came following Monday's episode of Raw during which Cesaro and Sheamus attacked Gallows and Anderson with a ladder as revenge for getting jumped backstage earlier in the show.

Following the addition of the stipulation, Cass tweeted about how fitting it is for Enzo and him to take part in a ladder match on The Grandest Stage of Them All:

WrestleMania has a deep lineage when it comes to tag team ladder matches, as Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz competed in a ladder match at WrestleMania 2000, and a TLC match at WrestleMania X-Seven one year later.

While the history between Gallows and Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus and Enzo and Big Cass isn't as rich, bringing ladders into the mix adds to the danger and intrigue surrounding the match.

New Day brought prestige to the Raw Tag Team Championships by holding them longer than any team in WWE history, and the three teams competing in Sunday's match can add to that by putting on a memorable performance at the Showcase of Immortals.
