Adrian Peterson Rumors: Packers Considered Pursuing Free-Agent RB
The Green Bay Packers reportedly considered scheduling a visit with free-agent running back Adrian Peterson, but they decided against it.
According to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler, sources believe the reason Peterson remains unsigned is that his price tag is too high.
Peterson spent the first 10 years of his potential Hall of Fame career with the Minnesota Vikings, but they didn't pick up his option and instead signed the younger Latavius Murray in free agency.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 32-year-old Peterson is coming off a frustrating 2016 campaign that saw him appear in only three games due to a knee injury.
He led the NFL with 1,485 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2015, however, which suggests he may still have something left in the tank.
No opposing team understands Peterson's body of work better than the Packers, as his 1,779 rushing yards in 17 career games against Green Bay are his most against any opponent.
The Packers also have a void in their backfield after Eddie Lacy signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
Former wide receiver Ty Montgomery became Green Bay's lead back when Lacy was injured last season, and he performed well to the tune of 805 total yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns.
Finding a more powerful complement would add another dimension to the Packers' running game, though, and Peterson could have been a solid fit.
Among the teams still in the market for a running back, the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and New York Giants are logical suitors for Peterson.
