Jourdan Lewis Denies Assaulting Girlfriend in Police Report Statement

In an Ann Arbor Police Department report made public Tuesday, former Michigan Wolverines cornerback Jourdan Lewis denied assaulting his girlfriend during a March 15 incident.

According to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press, Lewis' girlfriend said he dragged her across the floor and put his hands around her neck following a dispute regarding bills.

Lewis told police, however, that his girlfriend had wrapped herself around him and that "he may have grabbed [her neck] while trying to get her off him but had no intentions to hurt [her]."

Per Snyder, the woman had scratches on her nose and one by her thumb photographed at the police department March 17.

Lewis pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence March 16.

The 21-year-old Lewis is expected to be selected in April's 2017 NFL draft.

As part of his latest big board, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller ranked Lewis as the No. 11 corner and No. 73 overall player in the draft class.

Miller also projected the Indianapolis Colts to take Lewis with the No. 122 overall pick in the fourth round.

Lewis is scheduled to return to court April 12.
