Marcus Martin Reportedly Claimed off Waivers by Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns remained busy on Thursday, claiming offensive lineman Marcus Martin off of waivers, according to Field Yates of ESPN and NFL writer Howard Balzer.
Martin was waived by the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. In three seasons with the Niners he appeared in 27 games, though he started just two games last year and ultimately ended his season on injured reserve.
The Browns set out to upgrade the offense line on Thursday and did so in a big way, signing guard Joel Bitonio to a contract extension while reportedly coming to terms with center JC Tretter, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, and guard Kevin Zeitler, according to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo (h/t Marc Sessler of NFL.com).

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Martin will be the latest addition to the revamped offensive line, which could go from being a question mark to a major strength, with veteran Joe Thomas still manning left tackle and major upgrades to the interior of the line. Martin likely was an addition to improve the team's depth, with Tretter expected to start at center and Bitonio and Zeitler filling in at the starting guard positions.
The Browns weren't done there, however, and also reportedly signed free-agent wideout Kenny Britt, per Cabot.
Additionally, the team orchestrated the most shocking move of the day, a blockbuster trade that saw them acquire Brock Osweiler and a a 2018 second-round pick from the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2017 fourth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The move was essentially the Browns landing a second-rounder in exchange for absorbing Osweiler's $16 million guaranteed salary in 2016.
Suffice to say, the Browns have hit the 2017 offseason running.
