Terrell McClain, Redskins Reportedly Agree on 4-Year Contract
Washington and free-agent defensive lineman Terrell McClain reportedly reached an agreement on Wednesday to a four-year contract for more than $21 million, according to Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post and Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports.
McClain was an unheralded, but important, member of the Dallas Cowboys defense in 2016. The defensive tackle racked up 40 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles across 15 starts, his first starts since 2011 with the Carolina Panthers as a rookie.
The 28-year-old South Florida product has established himself as a reliable block-eating, run-stopping interior asset across 62 games. Durability has been a question mark, however, as he's appeared in all 16 contests just once in his career.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Bleacher Report's Charles McDonald noted how highly he ranked in B/R's NFL 1,000 series after playing almost the entire 2016 campaign:
Along with the Cowboys and Panthers, the veteran lineman has also made stops with the New England Patriots and Houston Texans during his six-year career.
Hitting the free-agent market after his most productive all-around season to date put him in position to cash in after averaging just over $1 million annually during the past three years, per Spotrac.
Ultimately, McClain's exit is a definite setback for the Cowboys after the team ranked first against the run last season. The silver lining for Dallas is its depth up front. David Irving, Maliek Collins and Cedric Thornton should combine to fill the void with a committee at the tackle spots.
As for Washington, McClain should help address the team's 24th-ranked run defense from a year ago. His isn't a splashy signing, but if he can stay healthy, he should represent a dramatic improvement on the interior as the team looks to shore up its run defense.
