Adrian Beltre Set to Surpass Multiple Milestones in 2017
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre enters 2017 with two milestones well within reach. Most notably, he needs just 58 more hits to become the 31st player in MLB history to record 3,000 hits, per MLB.com.
Should he reach the total, he would become just the third player to do so while playing more than half of his games at third base. George Brett and Wade Boggs are the only other third basemen to have already topped the mark.
The veteran third baseman also requires only nine more doubles and five more home runs to join Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Stan Musial and Carl Yastrzemski as the only players in MLB history to record 3,000 hits, 600 doubles and 450 home runs in a career.

Beltre has served as a consistent presence in the middle of Texas' batting order for the past six seasons, playing the majority of his career with the Rangers, Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers.
While he's never taken home the MVP award, Beltre did finish a distant second to Barry Bonds during the 2004 season. The 19-year vet does have plenty of hardware to his name, however. Not only has he earned the Silver Slugger trophy four different times in his career, but Beltre sports five Gold Glove Awards and has taken home two Platinum Gloves. He has also been voted to the All-Star Game on four different occasions.
Given the number of milestones he has reached and will reach before retirement, Beltre could be a lock for the Hall of Fame.
