WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Fastlane 2017 for Week of Mar. 3
The card for WWE WrestleMania 33 will take another significant step forward this weekend as Fastlane, the final pay-per-view before Mania, airs on Sunday.
There are bound to be surprises and twists aplenty as the Raw-exclusive show sees matches including Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens vs. Goldberg.
And this week's rumor round-up is an intriguing look at what could happen at Mania and beyond over the coming months.
There's a note on a surprise return which we could see this weekend, as well as a twist on SmackDown which may take some by surprise.
Undertaker Set for a Surprise Return?
1 of 3Fastlane is just a couple of days away, and there has been significant movement in one of the main matches in regards to a favorite.
Roman Reigns takes on Braun Strowman as the two giants of Raw look to settle their score once and for all, and reports online have Strowman down as a favorite.
One of those reports emerged this week from Randall Ortman at Cageside Seats. Ortman reported that Strowman is quickly becoming the favorite to beat Reigns, and that may be down to outside interference.
The report goes on to mention a surprise return for The Undertaker is on the cards, perhaps setting up Reigns vs. Taker at WrestleMania 33.
Quite how that, as well as Strowman going over Reigns, will go down is anybody's guess.
Report: Hardy Boyz Returning to WWE
2 of 3Is one of the world's hottest tag teams finally about to return to where it all began?
Speculation has been rife about the future of Matt and Jeff Hardy for weeks, if not months, now. And whenever such rumor and speculation occurs, a return to WWE is always mooted.
But now it seems as though The Hardy Boyz could be about to make their long-awaited return.
Ortman reported this week that "the current expectation" is Matt and Jeff will indeed be signing on the dotted line with WWE and returning to the company.
If true, there are many questions to be asked. For instance, what show will they be working on? Will Matt be bringing his "Broken Matt Hardy" gimmick with him? And who will they feud with?
It promises to be an intriguing few weeks if the reports are true and The Hardy Boyz come back.
Luke Harper Returning to The Wyatt Family?
3 of 3Luke Harper's elevation to SmackDown's main event scene had left some hoping for a dream match-up against the man who nurtured him during his early days on the main roster, Bray Wyatt.
The fact the duo could have feuded over the WWE Championship would have made things even sweeter, but instead, it looks like Harper is set for a dramatic return to The Wyatt Family.
Randy Orton's actions on SmackDown this past Tuesday pretty much guaranteed it will be Orton vs. Wyatt for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
But Ortman reported this week that fans can instead expect to see Harper move back into The Wyatt Family rather than attempt to take down Bray.
This is a strange move. It makes little sense given how Harper appeared to be on the cusp of a major push, and it seems those plans have now been pushed back.
