Saturday's Expert College Football Picks: Florida Vs LSU
If you’re in search of free college football picks, this is undoubtedly the game of the week. Number one ranked Florida travels to number four ranked LSU. This game features the winners of the last three national championships and it should not disappoint. If you’re looking for a great college football game to watch this Saturday, do not miss this one. So what should we expect from the Tigers and Gators battle?
Florida Gators Picks: Let’s start off with the big guns first, Florida Gators. They are the defending national champions and are currently riding a 14 game winning streak. They are basically bringing back their whole team with the exception of Percy Harvin. Their defense is unbelievably good and their offense is lead by a quarterback of folk hero proportions- Tim Tebow.
While the Gators have a lot going for them normally, this week could be different. Tebow suffered a concussion in his last game two weeks ago and is still recovering from it. He was carried to the hospital in an ambulance and spent the night there for observation. Although he says he feels better, there is still a big question mark surrounding whether he will take the field.
Tebow has been practicing a little bit this week and Urban Meyer says that he looks pretty good. With that being said, a concussion is a serious injury and they want to take every precaution to know that he is alright before throwing him into live action.
If Tebow can play, it will be a huge boost to Florida as he is the third ranked quarterback in the nation at a rating of 170.3. While he doesn’t pass for a lot of yards, his impact on the game can not be denied.
LSU Tigers Picks: The Tigers are a different story. Although they won the national title two years ago, they had a down year last season. This season, no one knew quite what to expect out of them. Would they jump back into national title contention immediately or would they struggle? So far, they have been perfect winning their first five games and going 3-0 in the SEC.
The Tigers have relied on defense to carry the team and they currently rank 16th in the nation only allowing 14.8 points per game. They are a stingy bunch and they have held down some pretty good offenses in the first few games of SEC play.
The offense has struggled a bit behind sophomore quarterback Jordan Jefferson. While he has talent, he is still learning on the job. The rushing attack was supposed to be a strength with All-SEC tailback Charles Scott. He struggled most of the year until last week against Georgia where he ran for 95 yards and found the endzone twice.
Outlook: A lot of expert CFB picks have Florida winning this game easily. They believe that LSU is not quite experienced enough to win. However, the game is at LSU and the crowd will be crazy. This one should go down to the wire and if Tebow can’t go, the Tigers may just win.
