Sharks Troll Falcons with Super Bowl Reference After Collapse, Overtime Loss
Kyle NewportFeb 8, 2017
It's all a matter of perspective.
Sure, no hockey team ever wants to squander a big lead. But as long as it's not in the playoffs, with a Stanley Cup on the line, teams are able to put a collapse behind them and move on.
Just days after the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the second half of Super Bowl LI, the San Jose Sharks blew a three-goal lead against the Buffalo Sabres in the final 11 minutes of regulation. Not only that, but the Sabres found the back of the net in overtime to steal a 5-4 victory—and two points.
