Real Madrid Transfer News: Augusto Galvan Battle with Barcelona, Latest Rumours
Real Madrid are reportedly favourites ahead of Barcelona to sign Sao Paulo midfielder Augusto Galvan.
According to Hugo Carrasco of Marca, the 17-year-old Brazilian is looking for a move to Europe after being sidelined for much of the last year.
Carrasco added that Barca and Real are both "locked in a battle to sign the midfielder," with Real leading the race, although neither club can officially sign him until the summer as he does not turn 18 until March 25, 2017.

Per Marca's Jose Felix Diaz, Galvan could potentially move to Madrid to train with Real's youth sides in January as his Sao Paulo contract expires at the end of the year.
It seems clear from both Diaz and Carrasco's reports that Galvan's future lies away from Sao Paulo.
Per Carrasco, he first showed his quality with some impressive performances at the 2015 Al Kass International Cup, a tournament for under-17 sides. Some of his highlights can be seen here.
Both Real and Barca have a strong history of developing youngsters and attacking midfielder Galvan looks to have the type of flair that would be welcomed in Spanish football and could be well nurtured.
If he does get a move to Real it seems likely that he would initially ply his trade in the youth ranks with a view to progressing to the first team once he has proved himself and matured.
Given the intense rivalry between the two clubs, Real will be eager to get one over Barca even if it is just in the race to sign a young Brazilian.
But it will be even more satisfying if they snap Galvan up and he one day becomes a key part of the Los Blancos squad.
