  • "Very tough decision, but I have decided not to play in the Sun Bowl so I can begin my draft prep immediately," Christian McCaffrey announced on Twitter. "Thx to all my teammates for their 100% support-It means a lot to me. Go Cardinal!"

  • "I've let the team know this afternoon Tom [Savage] will be the starting quarterback against Cincinnati," Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien said, per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, adding, "Brock's a pro. He didn't say a lot. He understands he's got to be ready to play. He's in the same situation Tom was in, one play away."

  • With his team in the red zone and down 23-9, Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed was assessed a 15-yard penalty and ejected for punching the Carolina Panthers' Kurt Coleman. The Redskins settled for a field goal on that drive and lost the game, 26-15.
