Arsenal Transfer News: Julian Draxler Interest from PSG, Latest Gunners Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Wolfsburg outcast Julian Draxler amid rumours of Arsenal interest. Meanwhile, Everton are understood to be close to beating the Gunners to Charlton Athletic star Ademola Lookman.
ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson cited French newspaper Le Parisien, which reported Wolfsburg have valued their misfit at €30 million (£25.2 million), a fee that may not be deemed beyond Arsenal's means:

However, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has gained a reputation for being considerably less active during the winter transfer window, and even Draxler's alleged availability may not be enough to push him into business.
The Sunday Express (h/t Metro) recently reported Draxler is set for a January move after being omitted from Wolfsburg manager Valerien Ismael's recent squad for the trip to Bayern Munich, and the winger has several options in front of him:
However, Arsenal can at least take heart from the knowledge Bayern won't challenge for the attacker after manager Carlo Ancelotti conceded his side won't battle for his signature, per Metro's George Bellshaw: "Draxler is a very interesting player. Full stop. He can play in any team. Our team is complete. We won't do anything in winter—there's no market for us."
Draxler could be a substantial midseason addition for any club willing to meet Wolfsburg's asking price, although it's worth mentioning the player has failed to record a goal or assist in 11 league outings this season.
That being said, Wenger may be the man to coax the best form out of the 23-year-old once again in north London, particularly with compatriots Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and Per Mertesacker already at the club.
However, BT Sport pundit Raphael Honigstein doesn't see a move to the Emirates Stadium materialising, and he questioned whether the Premier League giants really need another player of Draxler's ability:
The point is there to be made that between Ozil, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Iwobi and Santi Cazorla, Arsenal would struggle to fit Draxler in among their creative weapons without some sales.
Unfortunately for them, it seems unlikely PSG will give them enough time to ponder a deal, either, and the English titans may need to move sooner rather than later if they decide they want a deal.

Elsewhere, Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Independent reported Everton are confident of wrapping up the signing of Charlton winger Lookman for a fee that could rise as high as £11 million.
Yannick Bolasie's season-ending knee injury has forced manager Ronald Koeman to return to the transfer market, and their initiative means Lookman appears set for a Premier League switch to Merseyside next month.
