The New Day's Best Booking Options for WWE Roadblock 2016

Donald WoodDec 12, 2016

On Monday's episode of Raw, The New Day successfully defended their championships to become the longest reigning tag team titleholders in WWE history.

After winning two separate Triple Threat championship matches in one night and not having a match at Sunday's Roadblock pay-per-view event, the WWE Universe is wondering what's next for the trio of Superstars.

Instead of taking Sunday off to recover from an action-packed episode of Raw, here are the best booking options for Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods at WWE Roadblock 2016.

The Revival Debuts to Win Championships

After watching The New Day set a new WWE record and run through four teams on Raw, there aren't many options as No. 1 contenders. Now it's time for a surprise team to get a tag team title shot.

The Revival should make their debut at Roadblock and win the tag team championships.

Not only would The Revival making its debut against The New Day guarantee a heel reaction, but stealing the championships shortly after the new record was set would also make Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson two of the most hated Superstars on the roster.

As two-time NXT champions and masters of the heel tag team style, The Revival deserves to be on the main roster. While SmackDown's tag team division needs the duo more, The New Day needs a viable challenger, and The Revival are two of the best in the business.

What better way for The Revival to make an impression than to win tag team gold on its first night?

Broken Matt Hardy Brings Brilliance to Roadblock

While it may be a long shot, the best booking option for The New Day would be a one-off match at Roadblock against two TNA stars—Matt and Jeff Hardy. Broken Matt has sent a challenge to The New Day for a match, but maybe it is the Hardy Boyz who must show up in WWE first.

The New Day has run through the entire tag team division. Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon could organize a tournament to crown new No. 1 contenders, but a surprise match against the Hardy Boyz at Roadblock would create a legitimate buzz.

"Let's say they would send the Day of the New to Apocalypto and to appear on an Impact Wrestling show. This would be the most grandest, most magnificent Impact Wrestling show of all time," Hardy told Ring Rust Radio. "Then maybe Brother Nero and I would go to one of their shows like one of their Raw shows or SmackDown shows. I am willing to do business, and I'm willing to play ball with anyone for I am very open minded."

The Hardy Boyz appearance would also open up a line of communication between TNA and WWE. With rumors that WWE officials were interested in purchasing the Impact Wrestling video library, per The Ross Report (via WrestlingInc.com), a talent-exchange agreement would be a major boost to the wrestling industry.

Add in the fact The Hardy Boys showing up would give every WWE event the feeling that anything could happen and watching Matt and Jeff return to WWE for one night only would be a moment fans never forget.
