Real Madrid Transfer News: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Agreement Rumours Denied
Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has denied rumours of some kind of deal between his club and Real Madrid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, claiming he hasn't even spoken to Los Blancos about a transfer of the Gabon international.
Marca's Jose Felix Diaz (via Padraig Whelan) previously reported Watzke and Real president Florentino Perez agreed to an “option” for three BVB players, including Aubameyang, which would force the German club to inform Los Blancos if an offer for their stars arrived.
Watzke dismissed those reports in an interview with Bild (h/t Goal's Joe Wright), however: "It's right that I had lunch with Florentino Perez, and we sat next to each other in the stadium. But we did not spend one second talking about players of Borussia Dortmund. There's no agreement."

Felix Diaz reported the two clubs already had a similar deal in place previously, which meant BVB called Real when Manchester City made an approach for Ilkay Gundogan. The three players Real were said to be interested in were Aubameyang, Julian Weigl and Ousmane Dembele.
The links with the former didn't come as a surprise, as Aubameyang has made it clear he hopes to play for Los Blancos one day, via Felix Diaz. The 27-year-old frequently reminds everyone he promised his grandfather he would don the iconic white kit at some point in his career.
As shared by Squawka Football, Aubameyang has been one of the most in-form strikers in Europe this season, scoring almost at will:
The speedster is one of Dortmund's most impressive players, and his strong form has led to plenty of transfer links and speculation over the years. BVB have a fantastic reputation for unearthing talent, but they also frequently lose their top stars to other clubs, and that tendency only led to even more rumours.
Real aren't exactly short on talented strikers, with Karim Benzema ranking among the best in Europe and Alvaro Morata returning to the Spanish capital after a spell with Juventus, but Aubameyang's unique skill set makes him an attractive option.
Here's a look at some of his highlights:
While Benzema mostly stands out for his ability to link play and weight on a defence, Aubameyang is deadly in the open space, using his fantastic athletic ability to devastating effects. He can also be effective inside the box and has become an aerial weapon in the Bundesliga as well.
The former AC Milan player seems destined to end up at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu one day, whether it's because of a clause or otherwise. With Real's transfer ban about to take effect, his transfer likely won't come anytime soon, however.

Elsewhere, Los Blancos reportedly face even more competition in the race to sign Alexander Isak, a player frequently compared to Aubameyang. The Swedish teenager has been linked with just about every top club in Europe, and Everton are the latest side mentioned as a destination, per MailOnline's Simon Jones.
According to Jones, Real Madrid already had a £9 million offer rejected, with AIK holding out for a fee of £14 million.
Bleacher Report UK's Sam Tighe is a major fan of Isak, comparing him favourably to Aubameyang:
Everton would be an unlikely destination for the 17-year-old, who is already holding his own in Sweden's top division and ranks among the best prospects in all of football. He'll have his pick of teams when he decides to leave AIK and will likely opt for a bigger club than Everton.
