WWE Roadblock 2016: Feuds Guaranteed to Increase Excitement for Event
WWE Roadblock: End of the Line will be the final WWE pay-per-view of 2016, so the Raw brand will be looking to end the year on a high note.
As of this writing, WWE.com has only confirmed three matches for the Dec. 18 show, but Monday's Raw should see a few more bouts added to the card.
The matchup with the most pressure will be Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair's Iron Man match. Banks and Bayley had a great one at NXT TakeOver: Respect, so the bar has already been set.
Putting Roman Reigns into a Universal Championship match with Kevin Owens means Raw has one less title being defended at the pay-per-view, so we should expect matches involving the Cruiserweight and Tag Team Championships to be added next week.
Let's take a look and see which feuds should produce the best matches at Roadblock.
Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair
1 of 4The feud between Banks and Flair has dominated the women's division in 2016, so it makes sense to end their year with the first women's 30-minute Iron Man match in the history of the main roster.
While not an official stipulation, this feels like the final chapter in their feud. Once this match is over, both women will likely move on to different feuds.
Some fans may be tired of seeing the same two women fight for the title, but every time Banks and Flair step into the ring together, they steal the show.
They don't know how to have a mediocre performance because they are always trying to outdo their previous match with something special.
It wouldn't be surprising to see WWE put this match on last to continue its trend of pushing the women's division more than ever.
Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho
2 of 4Chris Jericho will face Seth Rollins at Roadblock, and Kevin Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, but the story everyone is paying attention to involves KO and Y2J.
The two were inseparable for the past few months, but Jericho grew tired of being the one who always took the fall for the team while Owens stayed safe.
They have pulled the wool over our eyes before, so they may be faking their recent arguments to trick everyone, but the more likely outcome to this story is each's interference in the other's match.
This will all lead to a Jericho-Owens title match, possibly at the Royal Rumble next month. These guys have been great as partners, but they will make even better rivals when the time comes for them to fight.
Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn
3 of 4Nothing has been made official yet, but based on recent events, we will likely see Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman added to the Roadblock card.
WWE has been building this story slowly over the past couple of months. One of their matches never officially got started, and their other encounter ended early when general manager Mick Foley stopped the match due to Zayn's inability fight back.
It's hard to tell if WWE is building to Zayn getting the underdog victory or Strowman running through him to continue his reign of dominance.
What we do know is Strowman has been impressive lately. His mic work may need some nurturing, but his athleticism has opened a lot of eyes to his ability.
The New Day vs. Cesaro and Sheamus
4 of 4The New Day is just days away from breaking Demolition's record for the longest tag title reign in WWE history, but it will have to go through Cesaro and Sheamus, as well as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson first.
Unless WWE is planning on pulling the rug out from under Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods right before they break the record, we should see them retain on Raw.
Cesaro and Sheamus have come together and formed a more cohesive unit over the past few weeks, and if anyone should end The New Day's reign at Roadblock, it's the two European brawlers.
We know how good The New Day can be in big-match situations, and the skills of Sheamus and Cesaro are on par with the best, so if they do have another match at Roadblock, it could end up stealing the show.
Which feud do you think is the most interesting heading into Roadblock: End of the Line?
