Chargers Struggling to Keep Skill Players Healthy in 2016
The injury was another setback for Benjamin after he had already dealt with a knee injury earlier in the season.
When healthy, he is one of the primary wide receivers in the San Diego offense, especially after Keenan Allen tore his ACL in Week 1. Benjamin has 514 yards and three touchdowns in 2016, his first year with the Chargers.
Benjamin didn't top 314 receiving yards in his first three NFL seasons but had a breakout campaign in 2015 in his final year with the Cleveland Browns, recording 966 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He is a deep threat with impressive speed and can score any time he gets his hands on the ball.
Still, Benjamin is San Diego's most reliable wideout in the absence of Allen, and the Chargers will need to keep him healthy if they hope to challenge for a postseason spot in the AFC.
