"He taught myself, personally, how to become a real winner. He's like a brother," Rizzo said through tears. "He's taught me a lot in life—on the field, off the field, how to be a better person."
Ross is set to retire, and Rizzo pointed out that in the last game he ever played, he became a champion.
The 39-year-old embraced Rizzo, stepped to the mic and yelled, "Chicago! Look what the boys got me!" while hoisting the Commissioner's Trophy.
