Michelle Toy of KTVU reported Miller tried to check into a Marriott hotel in the Fisherman's Wharf area on Sept. 4. After being told it was full, he returned the next morning and was confronted by the 29-year-old son after knocking on his parents' room door.
Miller allegedly attacked the son as well as his 70-year-old father, who'd come to help his son, according to KTVU. Sources told the outlet both individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, which included broken bones for the father.
In June 2015, Robert Salonga of the Bay Area News Group noted Miller pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge for an incident involving his then-fiancee. He was given a 16-week domestic violence counseling course to avoid further jail time.
Miller was in the process of converting to tight end before the 49ers released him following the September incident. He's remained a free agent ever since.
